Dance has always evolved with the tools, cultures, and people shaping it. Now, a new creative space is opening—one where choreography, imagination, and generative technology move together.
To celebrate the growth of the MVNT community and our upcoming mobile launch, we’re hosting our first community challenge: the MVNT Danceathon!
The prompt is simple:
Show us what generative dance means to you.
Create an original dance piece with MVNT at the heart of your process. You might explore a human dancing with an AI character, choreograph a digital performer, build a surreal movement world, create a music-video concept, or take the prompt somewhere we have not imagined yet.
A creative challenge built for experimentation
MVNT exists to make dance creation more accessible and to expand what movement can become through technology. Our first MVNT Danceathon is an invitation to explore that idea with other creators, dancers, animators, filmmakers, and curious minds around the world.
Whether you have been creating with MVNT for a while or have not logged in recently, this is a chance to discover what is new, experiment freely, and make something unmistakably yours.
Every eligible participant will receive 300 free MVNT credits, worth 10 minutes of creation.
How to enter
- Register for the challenge using the official Danceathon entry form
- Join the MVNT Discord.
- Receive your participation credits after registration and eligibility verification.
- Create an original generative dance piece using MVNT meaningfully in the choreography or creation process.
- Share your final video in #showcase on Discord before the submission deadline.
- Include your MVNT scene link with the submission so the team can verify how MVNT was used.
What can you create?
The prompt is intentionally broad. Your entry could be:
- A human × AI duet
- A choreographed virtual character or robot
- A 3D dance scene
- A music-video concept
- An experiment in abstract or unexpected movement
- A performance that blends physical and digital dance
These are starting points, not limits. Surprise us.
Prizes
We will award a total of $350 in prizes across four categories:
- Human × AI — $100
- Best Dance — $100
- Generative Movement — $100
- Community Favorite — $50
How judging works
The MVNT team will judge Human × AI, Best Dance, and Generative Movement categories. Eligible entries will be reviewed for creativity, choreography, originality, and the meaningful use of MVNT.
Community Favorite will be decided by reactions in the Discord #showcase channel. Each community member may cast one reaction per submission.
Timeline
- Challenge opens: 22 September
- Submissions close: 5 October
- Judging period: 6–12 October
- Winners announced: 13 October
Submission rules
To qualify, your entry must:
- Be your original work
- Meaningfully use MVNT in the choreography or creation process
- Include the MVNT scene link with the submission
- Fit the theme of Generative Dance
- Be submitted in Discord #showcase before the deadline
- Be between 20 and 150 seconds long
- Avoid stolen or copyright-infringing material
- Contain no NSFW, hateful, discriminatory, dangerous, or otherwise inappropriate content
- A participant may win in a maximum of two categories.
Only one submission is allowed per participant. MVNT may disqualify entries that do not meet the eligibility requirements.

Who can enter?
The campaign is open to all new and existing MVNT users globally.
Do I need dance or animation experience?
No. Danceathon is about creative interpretation, not professional credentials. Beginners, dancers, 3D artists, filmmakers, animators, and experimental creators are all welcome, subject to the final eligibility rules.
How do I receive the free credits?
Register through the official challenge form. Eligible participants will receive 300 free credits in their MVNT account within 6 hours of registering.
Where do I submit my entry?
Post your video in the MVNT Discord #showcase channel and include your MVNT scene link.
Can I submit more than one entry?
No. Each participant receives one submission slot.
Can I use music, footage, characters, or other assets that I did not create?
You may only use material you own or have permission to use. Entries containing unauthorized copyrighted material may be disqualified.
When will winners be announced?
Winners are scheduled to be announced on the 13th of October on the MVNT Discord #announcement Channel.
